Every type of practice or business has
one basic goal in mind: How can I best
serve my patient/customer? That
question is best answered when you
have a close, one-on-one relationship.
A relationship of easy, two-way
communication.
Text Marketing offers a unique,
powerful way to do just that.
It can be a simple tool to remind about
and confirm appointments. A
wonderful tool in itself.
There are a number of other uses of
that tool and can tie your
patients/customers to you:
Educational Texts
Update Texts
Questionaire/Poll Texts
Imagine the look on your
patient's/customer's face when they
realize they have just received a text
from YOU, their health professional.
After the shock wears off (I mean, this
has never happened before), about an
health issue that is in the news of
general concern. Your image will
skyrocket in their eyes, as well as their
loyalty to you!
These could be simple general
reminder texts . . . perhaps reminding
patients/customers of the importance
of drug compliance . . . take the darn
things when you're supposed to! Or,
complete the course of medication.
They won't necessarily apply to every
patient/customer, but a great reminder
that you care and are looking out for
them.
These can go to individuals or to your
entire practice,or any part thereof.
Individually, you might be asking if a
patient is recovering well. Simple to
send, very simple to answer.
Collectively, you might be wanting
feed-back on some part of your
practice/business. Perhaps a newly
added service you want to know how
your patients/customers might feel
about. Or some other change that
would affect your patients/customers.
They can be yes/no questions or 1 to 5
answers. Again, you bring your
patients/customers closer by seeking
their imput.

This type of text depends on your type
of practice. Obviously ideal for
pharmacies, they can also have value
to certain practices. For example, it
can never hurt to let you patient base
know you are always open to
referrals. People don't know your
business . . . . tell them. And be sure
they are thanked when the do bring in
a referral. One great way would be in
your monthly text newsletter!
Everyone likes to see their name in
electrons!
Dentists might want to share that they
have a new whitening system or
they've just upgraded to a new, lower
radiation xray.
Or, welcoming a new colleague to
your practice.
The uses are as wide as your
imagination can make them.
This is available in the system. While
it might have greater use in other
commercial areas, with a bit of
ingenuity, you could make this fun and
exciting for your patients. My first
thought goes to orthodontists with
their generally young patient
population. An oral hygiene question
with a prize.
Or, for expectant mothers, an OB-GYN
could ask a prenatal care question
that would have a layette prize of
some sort.
Could add a fun and whimsical page
to your practice!
